The Pox
I should have known that actually typing it in a Thankful Thursday post would have jinxed me. Ryan came to me this morning before school and asked "Mom, what's this bump here?" Sure enough, he had three whole chickenpox on his back, which have progressed in these short hours to about 15-20 spots. This Thursday would have been the 17 day mark from the time Kaylee broke out and we would have been in the clear. Now starts the 10-17 day incubation period AGAIN for the possible other outbreaks to come (3 more kids to go). This life is too funny! So, Ryan will be home with me during the day like Kaylee was for five days. But let's be honest, having Kaylee, a girl, home is WAY different than having Ryan, a boy, home. And, Ryan is not having any other symptoms than the spots and itching, so he is running around here CRAZY!!
In other news, our visit to Chuck E. Cheese's for Kara's birthday reminded us of how much we can't stand that place! There was barely room to move as it is a scaled down version of Disney World. A ten year old CRAZY girl toppled on top of Caden, a two year old, and I can't understand what the thrill is for an older child in the "baby zone". Regardless, we need to find a better place to celebrate birthdays or at least start going on a weekday evening, although, the last time we did that it was still busy. This was our first public outing with all five, so at least it was noisy in case some tragedy ensued for us, which it did not, surprisingly. I know, we're brave!
