Caden is getting really big. Not only is he a big, wide "football player" type, he is looking so different these days. I was looking at pictures from just this past year and kids change so much. He loves books and just today, we were looking at one of his picture books and he was actually SAYING the words after I said them! Usually, he mumbles some sound that resembles the word I say, but only in syllable form. It is usally no where near what the word actually is. His favorite sound is dy as in die...everything is dy dy (i.e. bye bye, thank you etc.) And if he tries a new word, it comes out dy dy! But, today is different. He actually said car, truck, rabbit, cat, girl, snow, owl, piggy, puppy. Using sentences is a whole other issue, but I am thankful that he is using words now because it is only a matter of time before he starts to tell me what he wants. With three siblings doing the talking for him, it has been a struggle and he gets really frustrated when we don't know what he wants because he won't say it. Yesterday he came to me with his arms and shoulders hunched up like he was asking me a question, but I couldn't understand a word!
His favorite things these days are books, books, more books, bathtime, his brother and sisters, cars, funny commercials (the chips ahoy commercial where they're riding in the convertible), funny movies, and TJ Bearytales. He just converted to a size 6 diaper and we are no where near potty training. He likes to throw things and you have to really be careful if you're holding Jillian because he will bring the tv remote to you, and if he doesn't throw it, he drops it on her head. When he gets mad, he pushes, screams, has been known to bite, and throws. It's really been a struggle to discipline him as are a lot of 2 year olds because they don't value anything you could take away. They just find something new to play with or do. But, give me until he's three, and he should be fine! We can only hope!
