Kalahari
We just got back from Kalahari on Mon/Tues of this week. We got an awesome gift card from my employer/friends Gary and Jill. We had a lot of fun. We left Jillian with "Grandma Beth" who is our neighbor, but is with the kids so much, we have that running Grandma joke. We took Caden, even though he was horrible the second day. I can't keep excluding him from family time b/c he's a pain in my ass! He's three, and I keep telling myself it's a phase, but I am becoming increasingly fearful that Jillian is heading down that same road. She acts JUST like Caden in public.
Anyway, the first night we went to dinner at Kahunaville, which was good. When we first saw the waterpark through the window, Ryan and Kara said "O-M-G!". This world of ours today with the new lingo, etc. cracks me up! Then we went to the waterpark until it closed at 9pm. I hung with Caden who was good as long as I didn't look at or talk to him. He wanted to be as far away from me as possible. He busied himself with the baby slides for two whole hours. He didn't like the regular pools with me holding him, but he did like the wavepool. The other three went with Ron for a while and they went everywhere that Kara could go and then Kara hung with Caden and I while Ron took Kaylee and Ryan on the big slides.
The next morning, Ron took the big kids to the arcade while Caden and I "packed". Then we loaded the car and went back to the waterpark until almost 1pm. We ate lunch at the Cafe Mirage, which I do not reccomend if you go there. It was disgustingly dirty and not ONE person was cleaning tables. When I asked an employee for a towel or something that I could clean the table off with, he replied "we don't have any"! On the upside, the waterpark water is great for eczema, as Caden's was all but gone after our visit! We drove home after the 5 inch snowfall we received the night before, but the roads were fine. I expect we'll be going back to Kalahari in the future!
