Once Upon A Time

"Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess with golden locks and a flawless porcelain face......" Uh, not so fast, narrator! So the story goes:
Kaylee went to the lake w/ my Aunt Nancy and cousin/friend Gretchen and Gretchen's girls. Apparently, the girls were bouncing a ball and the ball hit a light fixture on the ceiling and it came down and struck Kaylee in the face. We are SO lucky it didn't lacerate her eye (the one is very close). She came to the ER and I was working, so I got to go down and be with her. She was the cutest thing! She even thanked me for coming to be with her when I had patients to take care of and she was concerned about who was taking care of my patients (thanks Lisa U.!). I really do work with great gals.
Kaylee got three stitches on the one below her eye and they just glued the one on her nose. She did so well (although tearful the whole time). Two nurses aides came in to hold her down I guess, but she didn't need it....I, myself, have never had stitches and neither has Ron. She was so brave and mature about the whole thing. When I told her she couldn't go swimming, she cried (sobbed actually, and it was very sad), but her cousin, Alex, said "if you can' swim, then WE won't swim!" How sweet! I'm worried about scarring.....I'll have to do the before and after pics like the mederma commercials!
