Concert

I dragged Ron to Jon McLaughlin's concert on July 17th at The Blind Pig, admittedly the dive-y-est bar I've ever been to. What was hilarious was all the college students. If you look at the picture above, you can see that the crowd was VERY young. In fact, the two girls in front of us weren't even old enough to drink, as evidenced by the huge 'M' the bouncer guy marked on their hands (for minor, I guess). I'm sure the guy laughed at Ron and I's birthdates! I believe I kind of warned Ron that it would be a young crowd, but I don't think he understood the depth of it! As we pulled up he said "You've got to be kidding me" and as we stood in line he kept saying to the elder passersby, "Please come here, please come here"! We were the oldest couple there until one of those elder couples passing by got in line. Myself, I was surprised by the interest these college students had in this guy. He plays piano and reminds me of a young Harry Connick. It just goes to show that college student taste has matured! Nonetheless, it was an awesome concert. And, as I type this he is just now debuting at #14 on VH-1's top 20 with his Beautiful Disaster video (and Caden is singing it b/c I play it so often!) Jon M. took the photo above of the crowd in between sets, and Ron swears he sees me in the back when he zooms in!
