Thankful Thursday
Have I ever mentioned that I love our neighborhood? This is a neighborhood where, if you need, you can run across the street and borrow 3 eggs, like I did today! With the exception of one loser right next to us, everyone in this neighborhood is great. I know for me to say that of one neighbor is not very Christ-like, as my friend Rebekah would say, but I can't love THAT neighbor. Most of you know who and what I'm referring to with those people. Besides them, we have neighbors that have kids that our kids play with and we carpool together for sports, school stuff, etc. There was a time last summer where I had my five kids plus five more neighborhood kids. We ordered pizza and swam, which, don't get me wrong was hectic and those boys could eat up some pizza. But, I did think to myself, that it was pretty cool that we live near such a good group of kids. And their parents are cool too. Not to mention that we live next to the world's greatest stand in grandma, Beth, who the kids love to watch come and go at the sliding glass door in our living room. We have neighbors that will sit out in their driveways and watch our kids learn how to ride their bikes and cheer them on when they fall. Neighbors that will loan you their stuff and shovel your walk when you're stuck inside with five kids (not that I would do it anyway!) So, for this Thursday, I am thankful for my neighbors (minus the one), thankful for this neighborhood and the safe living environment my kids get to grow up in. All are not so lucky.
