And the winner is......

Half a woody costume. Not even half, a quarter of the woody costume was all I could get on Caden! He screamed, cried, threw himself down. Then, when we went out to trick-or-treat, he went up to the doors with all the rest acting like he DESERVED candy even WITHOUT a costume!! How embarrassing! I felt like a trashy mom, having her kid beg for candy! Ah, the luck my friend Ann has with her son not being the slightest bit interested in Halloween. Not one of my kids has EVER refused to wear a costume for Halloween. Let this be testament to the demeanor of Caden, the Great.....Caden, the stubborn is more like it. Where DOES he get that from?
Despite his antics, it was a good night. Ella and Gary stopped by (Ella was a pretty kitty complete with a trick-or-treat bag with her name on it! I've gotta get some of those! Ella's mommy is working on a HUGE project at home and has become ill in the process, so couldn't join us.) And Kaylee's bud Samantha came by with her parents (Samantha and Kaylee were the same thing this year, by choice). I swear, it was like homecoming or something. So we all started off around the cul-de-sac first to Caden's girlfriend's house (Beth, the next door neighbor who is like a grandmother to them all, except for that she's WAY too young and hip to be grandmother to anyone! So, maybe she's like an aunt to them!) After the cul-de-sac, I headed back to hand out candy and Caden and Kara went with Samantha's mom (whom they love) and Kaylee and Ryan took off with Ron, Gary, Ella, Samantha's dad, and another neighbor, Julie and her son, Jared. Caden and Kara got back and all Caden wanted to do was hang with Beth and Ashley, Beth's daughter. I think they should just adopt him! So, no one got sick from too much candy, but Jillian DID puke only because I was swinging her around and such. The weirdest, spookiest thing of the evening: that it was light out when we started at 6pm!

Ryan: A Devil (we didn't even recognize him once I was done with make-up)
Kara: Gabriella from High School Musical (don't ask!)
Caden: went as Boy who won't dress up for Halloween
Jillian: The traditional pumpkin that all of them have been- time to throw it away!
