Ryan the Menace

We specifically waited to have Kara b/c Ryan was such a handful as a baby. I should have known then. Do you want to hear how defiant Ryan is lately? Here's how it went down....
Ron was working, I decided to go to Target with all the kids b/c I needed a bday gift for Ryan's buddy. Ryan said he wanted to stay behind at the neighbor's house and said that the dad had said it was ok with him if Ryan stayed. I said ok, telling Ryan "do not come home because NO ONE will be here". I am gone for an hour, came home, and am rounding the corner to our house and then I see it. The garage door is open, there are bikes in the front yard and as I get closer, I can see that the garage door is now closing. As I get even closer, I see that not only is the garage door closing, Ryan and his friend are UNDERNEATH it and NOT moving out of the way! So, not only did he come home when he was told not to, he's playing underneath the garage door trying to get his arms chopped off! I'm sure you can imagine how mad I was. In fact, I have never been more mad at something one of the kids have done. The only reason Ryan moved was that I honked at him before I was actually IN the driveway (b/c he WASN'T moving out from underneath the door)..then, he became startled and jumped up, knowing he was busted. I wonder how a boy so smart can really not think about his safety, but then I remember what it was like to be a kid and how I always thought that my dad NEVER knew what he was talking about, that I knew it all. Now, I am being repaid for all the hell I put my dad through, and he is up in Heaven laughing! I really should have re-thought this before having FIVE of them!
