The Beating

OMG! I have to blog this b/c I just can't believe it happened. A couple days ago, I was telling a doctor at work that I thought Ryan and her son would get along great b/c Ryan is sweet and respectful, a good friend....I come home to tell Ron about it and how I thought Ryan could be great friends with this boy. He stares at me and says "Yeah, sweet boy, guess what he did today? He beat Kara up after she accidentally stepped on him! Yeah, real sweet boy!"
Apparently, the kids were playing on the back deck and Kara stepped on Ryan, and as it was told to me, Ryan got up and just lost it. Now, for those of you don't know, but most of you do, Kara has been Ryan's nemesis since she was about 3 years old. I'm certain that they might hate each other. Actually, I take that back. Kara loves Ryan and looks up to him, but she gets on his nerves. And then, Kara is mean to Ryan b/c he doesn't validate her interest in him. When Kara was a baby, Ryan loved her so much, just like he does Jillian now. I'm thinking this fighting/dislike must have something to do with the pecking order, or sibling rivalry, fighting for our attention, etc. Anyway, he pushed Kara into the deck railing and was yelling at her "I'm sick of you". Kara started crying of course and he hit her again I guess. Then Ron broke it up. I was so disappointed in Ryan. I have never seen or heard him act like this. Nit picking and verbal comments are one thing....but I had no clue he could be this physical. Sure they slap each other (not hard), shove each other, and yell at each other, but nothing like this. How come he couldn't act like this when that boy beat HIM up on the playground last year. And THAT is what I used to compare what he did to. I asked him if he remembered when that boy did that to him and he did..he remembered how bad he felt. I told him that's what he did to Kara. He seemed upset, but I think it was more that he got in trouble, not b/c he had hurt his sister....
