This Week in Leck News......

Let's see, this week I avoided a ticket by the po-po b/c I'm married to Ron. The first time in eleven years I have ever reaped the benefits of being married to a deputy! This is the funniest thing and proves that I am clueless. I pull up to the used kids clothing shop to drop off my junk and I pull up and PARK right in front of a deputy sheriff vehicle in the FIRE LANE!!! I saw the car, but didn't see anybody in it and assumed they were responding to a theft call since they get a lot of that in that shopping center. I was only running in and running out of the store, but on top of that, I left Kaylee and her friend Samantha in the car b/c they didn't want to come in! So, I'm in the store and after one minute, I see the deputy casing my van, walking around it, looking inside! I run out there, and she asks for my license. I have NEVER been pulled over or anything, so I am in disbelief! The deputy had been giving a ticket to the car behind me stopped at another store in the fire lane. I never even saw that car getting a ticket. I am thinking this deputy is going to give me a warning and make me move, and I would NEVER play the "my husband is a deputy sheriff" card. But, it is apparent to me that she is going to give me a ticket, until she asks for my proof of insurance and registration. After seeing Ron's name and work address on the registration, she says "Oh, NOW I know who you are"! I say, "yeah, Ron's my husband". And she let me go, but told me that she had just ticketed the girl behind me who was still there watching us and told me we were going to ACT like I got a ticket. So, when I moved my van and walked back into the store, the girl who got the ticket stopped me and said "Did you get a ticket too?" I said "yes" and we both gave each other that look and shook our heads as if to say "Those damned deputies"!
