A Week In The Life
Let's see....what's gone on this week....Ryan had his birthday on the 13th. He turned 7, and he is letting us know that he is NOT a baby anymore! He had his friend party at the bowling alley, and they had fun. He got a real bowling pin that had his name on it and all his friends signed it. I can't believe he is 7. When does this growing up occur? When they're sleeping?
Also, we learned last week that Kaylee has to have an endoscopy and biopsy of her small intestine to rule out celiac disease. There is, to my and my Aunt Nancy's knowledge, no history of it in our family, but a test they ran on Kaylee came back positive for it. It affects the small bowel and the tiny villi that live there. The only way to completely rule it out is this test. She has to be asleep for it, which is the part that is freaking me out. To me, it makes total sense that it would be something like this because of her symptoms and how long it has been. However, in my mind, this happens to other people, not us. I know, that is such a shallow, self righteous thing to say, but generally we've been healthy. And, might I add, that I think life has been tough enough for me and I am being totally selfish when I say, I've had enough turmoil in my life. I feel like I've had my share. So, not my kids, just please not my kids. I can handle just about anything, but not with my kids. I won't even go into what it will mean if the biopsy DOES come back positive, because I am not going to dwell on what life will be like until I know for sure. Her test is on January 8th and I haven't told her yet. And I don't plan to until a couple days before. She is a worrier. She has Frey blood, what can I say? I am just going to sit here and be thankful that it's not something worse.
On a lighter note, Santa stopped at our house last night! Our neighbor, Beth, has a friend who plays Santa and visits kids' homes. He was really good and mentioned Kaylee's stitches and Ryan's birthday. They were amazed. I think they were a little afraid to question whether or not he was real. It was sooooooooo cute. That Beth, she is so good to the kids. They love her.
In other news, we are gearing up for an action packed week until Christmas and getting ready for Caden's 3rd birthday this Friday. I know, what WERE we thinking having not one, but TWO kids in December! That's all for now!
